The unofficial start of high school basketball is here, with most teams across Northeast Oklahoma starting their action tonight – here are the previews and the schedule.

Bartlesville High begins its Oklahoma-season with a home contest against Sapulpa. Both the BHS boys and girls feel like they have a chance to improve upon last season.

For the Bruin guys, it is the third season for BHS junior guard David Castillo on the roster. Castillo continues to be one of the best talents in the country. The five-star recruit is ranked as the top point guard in the class of 2024 by nearly every major recruiting service.

Castillo says he is glad to be playing another season in his hometown.

Bartlesville is facing a Sapulpa team that struggled a year ago, finishing 15-games beneath .500. The Chieftains are young again, but BHS will likely have to play well in-order to get its first win of the season.

Head coach Clent Stewart talks about objectives on Friday night.

On the Lady Bruin side, Bartlesville returns three starters off a team that won four games last year. It is head coach Justyn Shaw’s second season with the program. A 6:30 tip for the girls, guys to follow about 8:00 on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1.
