Copan in 2nd Week of Spring Football

We continue our look at spring football across the area, as Copan High is another Washington County team that has already kicked off its practices.

The Hornets started a week ago, so this week’s practices will be the final few before offseason drills this summer. Copan has one senior, two juniors, three sophomores and about eight freshman out for its spring portion the past couple of weeks.

Head coach Marshall Foreman is back for his third year of action, he details what has gone on with Copan’s practices thus far.

Noah Cobb is the only senior for the Hornets this year. Cobb has been in and out of the starting lineup each of the past couple seasons. Copan has four returners, but the majority of its roster will be incoming freshman. Foreman says this year’s 9th graders are mostly skill position guys. The majority of the seniors Copan lost from last year were lineman.

Foreman talks about the large incoming freshman class.

After some more system install this week the Hornets plan on going to team camp in Wetumka in June before regular summer pride workouts leading up to fall camp in August.
