Harry Wright Previews Stillwater Part 2

Bartlesville High football is coming off a monster win at Lawton a week ago and is trying to pull an upset on Friday night.

BHS travels to No. 1 ranked Stillwater to face the undefeated and 10-0 Pioneers.

The victory over the Wolverines last week saw BHS come from behind by 16-points and prevail in overtime, even after getting two defensive penalties called against them in the final set of downs.

Head coach Harry Wright says the Bruins experiences earlier this year played a part in winning this time around.

The victory for the Bruins will hopefully serve as a launching board for a young program. BHS will return about 15 of their 22 starters next year.

Wright says he hopes this shows the young club that hard work pays off.

Bartlesville lost to Stillwater 55-7 in the two team’s previous matchup on Oct. 13.

This is the first time BHS football has had a repeat opponent in the same season since the 2015 Bartlesville run to the 6A-II semis, when Bixby ended the Bruin’s season. Bartlesville had won the regular season matchup with the Spartans.

A 6:30 pregame and 7:00 kick from Pioneer Stadium. We will have the game on KWON with video coverage on KWONTV.com.
