WCS Set For 2nd Home Playoff Game

Only a smattering of teams remain for high school football’s playoffs this Friday night. Wesleyan Christian School will be back in action in the Class C 2nd round this weekend.

WCS beat Graham-Dustin in the first round last week, 51-28. The game was a little closer than expected, with the Chieftains excelling in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Wesleyan would bounce back to get a double-digit win. The contest was never in doubt down the stretch.

Mustang head coach Curt Cloud says it is not necessarily a bad thing that Wesleyan Christian was pushed.

Mountain-View Gotebo will come to Bartlesville on Friday night. WCS has never advanced past the first round of the OSSAA playoffs, so a win this weekend would be a program first. The Tigers topped WCS by 51-points in a run-ruled game in southern Oklahoma in this same round last year.

Cloud says Gotebo will be bigger than his club, but they are less experienced than a year ago.

A 7:00 kick off of Silver Lake on Friday night.

We will have more on Wesleyan Christian School in the Class C 2nd round later on this week.
