UPDATED:

A Bartlesville man was seen in Washington County Court on Tuesday on the felony charges of attempted rape, forcible sodomy, and lewd acts to a child. James Alan Kerr is alleged to have committed the above offenses on a 12-year-old back on July* 17 of this year.

According to an affidavit, Kerr was with the victim and another juvenile at his home when the victim told Kerr that they had a headache and wanted medicine. The victim said in a forensic interview that they alone were given a blue liquid from his refrigerator that burned their throat and made them very tired and dizzy before falling asleep.

When the victim awoke, Kerr was allegedly in bed with the victim touching them inappropriately. The victim was able to escape to another room and waited for their guardian to pick them up the following morning. Following a forensic interview, investigators executed a search warrant on the home and found evidence that corroborated the victim’s story.

Kerr was given a bond of $200,000 and Judge Jared Sigler set his next court date for Sep. 8th.
