Dewey City Council Approves Ordinances; Public Works Authority Discusses Water Supply

The Dewey City Council met for the first of two regular monthly meetings in what was a relatively short Tuesday night. To kick things off, the council approved three ordinance variance requests in a row. Mayor Tom Hays and City Manager Kevin Trease explained in further detail what the ordinances meant.
One ordinance was a variance request, one was a re-zoning request, and the final one was a subdivision plat and lot split request. They next approved an amending budget resolution for expenditures in the department of agriculture food and forestry in the amount of $9,993.53.
One of the more interesting topics of conversation was in the public works authority meeting that directly followed, where Hays and Trease gave an update on the city water supply.
The Dewey City Council will meet again on Sep. 18 for their second of two regular monthly meetings along with the public works authority to follow.
