Bartlesville City Council Approves Buffalo Roam Agreements

The Bartlesville City Council approved two agreements Tuesday night with Buffalo Roam studios for the potential purchase of the former First Christian Church building in downtown Bartlesville.
First, the council approved a term sheet that will provide up to $2 million in incentives from the city's economic development fund and the Bartlesville Redevelopment Trust Authority for Buffalo Roam to redevelop the FCC building into a film academy and movie soundstage. The City Council also approved an early lease agreement that will allow Buffalo Roam access to the building in order to repair the roof before the season changes to winter.
City Manager Mike Bailey says Buffalo Roam's development will come in two phases.
Buffalo Roam will be required to provide at least $2 million in private investment for the project, rehabilitate the existing building and construct a new building that will house the soundstage.
Representatives with Buffalo Roam attended Tuesday's meeting. They say the hope to have the film academy opened by August 2024. The construction of the new soundstage will come after that milestone.
