The premiere of Full Court Press: The Ken Zacher Story is October 14th  at 6pm at the Center in Bartlesville.  The movie revolves around Zacher, Nowata's basketball coach, who in 1971 integrated the Ironmen  homecoming court, something that didn't sit well with some in the Nowata community.

The film's producer, Dane Warner, stopped by Bartlesville Radio and talked with us about what people can expect to take away from the movie.

Warner said, "This true story is an intriguing but heart wrenching film documentary about an amazing high school basketball coach in the early 70s.  While elevating his teams to the highest level, he also battled for racial equality. Secretly he fought a lifelong struggle with mental illness. He committed suicide at the young age of 36."

According to Warner, it took a while but Ken's family is now sharing for the first time, the effects that Ken’s mental illness had on them, in hopes to spread awareness and help others who are dealing with this today.

Activities start at 6:00pm.  Red-carpet arrival of casts and crew starts at 6:30pm. Film from 7-9pm with a Q&A & meet and greet to follow.  Tickets are on sale now at the Bartlesville Community Center Box office https://www.bartlesvillecenter.com/full-court-press-the-ken-zacher-story-event-details_391
