Bartlesville Regional United Way's (BRUW) 20th Annual Golf Scramble has taken off at the Adams Golf Club, and has raised $1.1 million so far.

BRUW President Lisa Cary says the tournament teed off on Tuesday morning and will wrap-up on Friday. She says she is ecstatic that the golf scramble exceeded its fundraising goal this year and thanked everyone for their support.

ConocoPhillips and Phillips 66 partner together as the major sponsors for the event. Cary says that achievement is incredible in itself, but it takes an entire team of 150 sponsors, more than 900 golfers and dozens of volunteers to make a difference.

Ashley Primm previously volunteered with the BRUW Golf Scramble, but has served as event co-chair for the past five years. She says seeing so many people come together to raise money and have a bit of fun along the way is a great testament.

Janet Hardy, who is the communications and public affairs director for Phillips 66, says the partnerships for the Golf Scramble are important to the company and for the community as a whole.

BRUW fights for the health, education and financial stability over every person in our communities. Cary says they serve Washington, Nowata, and Osage counties. She says the golf scramble allows BRUW to help fund their 14 partner agencies and 31 programs that they fund.

BRUW recently announced their 2023 campaign goal of $2.4 million at Bartlesville High School's first home football game against Claremore on Sept. 1.
