Local Lawmakers Discuss Recent Legislative Session
Nathan Thompson
The state budget, education, health care and public safety laws were the main topics of discussion Tuesday afternoon during the Bartlesville Chamber of Commerce Legislative Wrap-Up Forum at Tri County Tech.
Sen. Julie Daniels, Rep. Judd Strom and Rep. John B. Kane discussed the legislative session, which ended on May 30.
Among the things that Rep. Strom was most proud of was the emergency relief passed following several tornadoes and severe storms in the state this spring.
Sen. Daniels said one of the most important bills passed for education was the Strong Readers Act.
Rep. Kane said reforms to state-funded care were impressive to him.
