Incumbent State House District 10 Representative Judd Strom was our guest on COMMUNITY CONNECTION on Monday.
Rep. Strom stressed the importance of voting in the Primary Election on Tuesday. He said most of these races will be decided Tuesday due the lack of Democrat opponents.
Strom touched on PACs (Political Action Committees) saying that he appreciated the support from the Farm Bureau and others that he has received.
Strom talked about some of his accomplishements, including the fire training that is now available at Tri County Tech, the Water Resources Commission that helped District 10 during the biggest drought in many years as well as representing the needs of all of District 10.
As far as his work at the State Capitol, Strom is the Chairman of General Government working on the budget and reviewing bills before they go to committee or the floor. He said he works hard to find solutions so that government works for the people as it should by clearing out clutter and red tape.
When it comes to poorly written legislation or bills that will end up having unintended consequences, Strom said he is "not afraid to call the baby ugly." He said many of the "red meat" bills have great titles but contain a lot problems.
