Cornerstone Classical Academy Introduces Their High School Leadership Academy for Fall
Cornerstone Classical Academy in Bartlesville is set to embark on an innovative journey this fall with the launch of its High School Leadership Academy. Dale Willis, speaking on COMMUNITY CONNECTION, described the program as a groundbreaking initiative offering a comprehensive curriculum. It blends academic instruction in History with Christian leadership principles and studies of exemplary leaders.
"Students will actively apply leadership skills through hands-on activities, guest speakers, and tours of local businesses," Willis explained. He highlighted the program's emphasis on mentorships and internships, which will enrich each student's learning journey, equipping them with the knowledge and competencies necessary to excel in leadership roles.
Explaining the concept of "Classical Education," Willis noted that it provides students with the tools of learning essential for critical thinking. For Christian classical educators, the ultimate goal is to cultivate Godly wisdom. This time-tested approach to learning is designed not only to educate but to delight and inspire students.
At the core of Classical Education is the three-part "Trivium." The Grammar Stage (Elementary) focuses on facts, memorization, and stories, catering to children's natural inclination to absorb information. In the Logic Stage (Middle School), students explore ethical and moral questions, learning to debate logically and winsomely. Finally, the Rhetoric Stage (High School) encourages adolescents to develop eloquent communication and independent thinking skills.
