New Era of Nowata Football Enters Spring Practice

Spring football is underway for the Nowata Ironmen as they enter a new era of their program.
Nowata announced the hire of Scott Martin in February 2026 to lead the program this coming fall. Martin has over a decade of experience coaching high school football. He comes to Nowata after serving as the offensive line coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
During a period of waiting for kickoff and for spring camps to begin for football, Martin says the excitement level never changes.
As far as the spring goes for the Ironmen, they do not have a spring camp destination planned this year. Martin talks about the approach for the next 10 days as a first year head coach.
The Ironmen open their season on Sept. 4 on the road for Warner.
