BHS Girls Lose Regional Game to Bixby

The Bartlesville High girls played a heck of a playoff contest on Tuesday night with Bixby but fell just short of their first Regional win in five years.

Bixby came up with some big plays in the final few minutes to grab a 50-48 victory.

Bartlesville led throughout the contest and had a seven-point lead at halftime. However, the contest was back and forth the entire 32 minutes. BHS had the ball down one and down two in the final minute, but good looks would not go down, which led to the Bixby win.

A fantastic second quarter gave Bartlesville hope. BHS outscored the Spartans 19-6 to turn a six-point first quarter deficit into the seven-point halftime lead.

This pass from Cassie Snead to Mikka Chambers was a highlight.

Chambers finished with a game-high 22 points but was not able to score in the fourth quarter.

Snead scored five in a row at the end of the third and start of the fourth quarter to keep the pressure on Bixby.

This buzzer-beating three gave Bartlesville the lead entering the final stretch.

Snead was the other Lady Bruin in double-figures with 13.

Bartlesville will still have a chance to get to Area but will have to win two in a row. BHS will face Muskogee on Friday afternoon at 2:00 in an elimination game from Owasso.

If Bartlesville is able to knock out the Roughers they will play again on Saturday night for a chance to get to Area.
