BHS Tennis off to Hot-Start
Before we get into some spring sports from yesterday, lets focus on one of the most successful sports in the early part of the spring at Bartlesville High this year – Tennis.
BHS has had two meets early this year and both the girls and guys have had major success.
The Lady Bruins won the Westmoore Tournament and took second in Ponca City. The girls second place finish in Ponca was impressive, with the likes of Jenks, Edmond North, Edmond Memorial and Santa Fe. The win in Westmoore was Bartlesville’s fifth straight title in that tournament.
Meanwhile the BHS boys won at Westmoore, as well. The Bruins took fourth in Ponca City.
10 of the 12 varsity starters were returners from last year, but head coach Bryan Reese says Bartlesville’s success is about more than starters.
Reese says numbers of players out for the team is at an all-time high.
Bartlesville will come out of Spring Break with a chance for you to watch, as both programs will host their own tournament beginning on Monday at the tennis facility on the north side of Custer Stadium.
