The Bartlesville Braves picked up their first win in the Glen Winget Memorial Tournament Friday afternoon.

The Braves beat Kickapoo, 6-4.

For the second game in a row, the Braves allowed runs in the first inning. Kickapoo scored two runs on two hits in the top of the first to take an early lead.

The lead stood until the bottom of the third inning when Bartlesville struck for all six runs. The Braves capitalized on three Kickapoo errors in the inning and scored six runs on only two hits.

This single by Ryan Reece gave Bartlesville the lead in the third.

Two more runs scored on a double to left-center field by Jay Murguia.

Kickapoo threatened with two runs in the top of the fifth inning to get back within a pair. Braxton Loudermilk started for Bartlesville, Cole Martin pitched in relief.

Bartlesville's defense backed up both pitchers throughout the game. Martin helped turn a double play in the top of the sixth, the team's second of the day.

The win puts the Braves at 1-1 in pool play. They are back in action for Branson on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. for their final pool play game.
