Bruin Boys Begin 6A Playoffs

The Bartlesville boys basketball team will try to pull a major upset on the road at Broken Arrow on Thursday night in the first round of the 6A playoffs.

BHS enters the postseason at 3-19 on the year.

A new 6A playoff format will give the Bruins a better chance to advance. In years past Bartlesville would have faced elimination against the Tigers on Thursday. Now the Bruins will move on to Friday action regardless of the first-round's outcome.

Head coach Clent Stewart talks about the new format.

Broken Arrow will be a major challenge. The Tigers are 16-7 and have one of the stronger teams BHS has faced this season.

Stewart says his club will have to bow up to compete at Broken Arrow.

Stillwater and Edmond Memorial is the game opposite Bartlesville and Broken Arrow. Losers will play losers while winners play winners on Friday night.
