Bruin Football Begins Practice
At Bartlesville High, the football Bruins are scheduled to start practice at 2:00 on Monday afternoon.
It sets up to be an interesting 2024 preseason at BHS.
Bartlesville returns about half of its starters from last season. There are six or seven returners on the offensive side, with five or six guys back on the defensive side. Unlike years past, head coach Harry Wright says some younger guys look like they can steal some starting spots from juniors or seniors.
Wright talks about position battles this fall.
Wright also pointed that Bruin football parents and fans should also note the changes in the lineup that can take place throughout the year.
With increased numbers and depth, Wright says just because a player wins a battle during fall camp doesn’t necessarily mean they will hold it all season.

Bartlesville will open its season at Newcastle on Thursday, Aug. 29 on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1.
