Bruins Set for Road Battle at Collinsville

Week No. 3 of high school football is here, as nearly every local school is back in action again tonight in Northeast Oklahoma.

At Bartlesville High, the Bruins are still trying to get their first win at Collinsville. BHS is 0-2 with two one-possession losses to good 5A clubs.

Bartlesville is trying to reverse that fortune on Friday night.

The first two losses have had some common threads. Bartlesville trailed in both early before coming from behind to tie it. Then with the game tied, a touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter from their opponent would end up being the difference.

Head coach Harry Wright says the defense has had good moments, but they need to come up with a big stop when needed.

Collinsville has been the cream of the crop of 5A programs on the east side of the state. Head coach Kevin Jones enters his 14th season. The Cardinals won the 2021 5A state title.

Wright says despite the tough start, he believes in his club, and they believe in themselves.

Bartlesville is looking for its first win ever against the Cardinals. Collinsville has won the first five games in the series.
