City Golf Championship Begins Saturday

KWON will again have coverage of the Bartlesville City Golf Championship, which will be this weekend across both Hillcrest Country Club and Adam’s Golf Course in Bartlesville.

The City Championship has been played across both the courses in Bartlesville for more than five years now.

Bartlesville City Councilman and longtime sponsor and participant in the event, Jim Curd, talks about what that adds to the tournament. 

Jim’s son Landon was the city champion two years ago and nearly won it last year too, but a good Sunday from Joel Smith, who shot a final day 71, won him the tournament outright with a long birdie putt on 18.

Smith won the event for the first time after nearly 20 years playing in it.

Day one will be at Adam’s on Saturday with day two at Hillcrest on Sunday. KWON will have some check-ins from the event from about 3-5 in the afternoon during both days.
