Copan Hosts Playoffs Friday

High school football playoffs are coming up across the area on Friday night.
One of the teams with the best chance to move on resides up in Copan.
The Hornets are hosting a playoff game for the second straight season. Copan lost at home in the first round to Cherokee a season ago. Coyle visits northern Washington County this Friday night for the first round of Class B-II action.
The Hornets assured themselves a home game after a 62-18 win over Arkoma last week.
Head coach Trenton Kallenberger talks about the standouts from that win.
Caron also went 5-6 passing for three touchdowns on the evening. Also last week, Shooter Brewington had five catches for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Brewington also had 17 tackles to lead the Hornets.
Copan now sets its eyes on Friday night. The Coyle Bluejackets enter at 7-3.
Kallenberger says a win this week was the goal all season long.
Copan’s last playoff win came in 2008 against Kiefer in the first round of the Class B postseason. The Hornets lost in the first round to Cherokee last year and at Thackerville in 2023.
We will have more on the Copan-Coyle first round matchup later this week.
