Out of the three high school games this past weekend, the eight-man marathon between Copan and Barnsdall was probably the wildest.

Barnsdall held on for a 74-46 win over the Hornets on Friday night. The game ended just shy of midnight.

Copan head coach Marshall Foreman says the big crowd got its money’s worth on Friday night.

Although the game did not go the way the Hornets would have liked, there were some major positives for Copan. Foreman thought his club was in the game through 2.5 quarters.

Copan had the ball down 14 at one point in the third. The Hornets were also missing a few starters on the offensive and defensive line.

Running back Weston O’Rourke had 16 carries for 169 yards and three touchdowns. He was used sparingly at the end of the game because of an ankle injury. Kane Foreman threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns. The Hornets also had two kick returns for touchdowns on special teams.

Foreman talks about positives for Copan.

Up next, a 1-0 Welch club that run-ruled South Coffeyville a week ago.

Another game from Copan on Friday night at 7:00.
