Dewey Baseball Survives Sperry Surge

Dewey Bulldogger baseball survived a Sperry surge on Tuesday night to finish off a district series split and keep their winning ways alive.
It was Dewey over Sperry in a thriller, 16-13.
Dewey pulled ahead early thanks to a 7-spot in the second inning. The Doggers led 13-1 after four innings before Sperry hung a 10-spot on Dewey in the fifth to make it a 13-11 game. Dewey added two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to stretch the lead back to five. Sperry could only put two runs across in the seventh.
Dewey finished the night with 18 hits to complement the 16 runs, but had four errors defensively.
Jay Murguia, Easton Davis and Eddie Rice all finished with three hits each for Dewey.
The Bulldoggers with the win are 15-7 and 4-2 in district play, hanging on to third place in 3A-7. Dewey saw a four game win streak get snapped yesterday with a 6-4 loss to this same Sperry squad on the road. With the win, Dewey has won five of their last six and six of their last nine.
Dewey will be on the road for Tulsa Noah on Thursday. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
