The Dewey Bulldoggers made the trip Inola to take on the Jay Bulldogs in a 4A Regional elimination contest. Both the guys and girls fell in District title games last week, which lead to the Thursday win-or-go-home scenario.

We’ll start with the Lady Bulldoggers, there were able to use a huge third to 4th quarter run to grab a 42-39 win. Jay led the ladies 31-22 late in the third before the lady Doggers took over. Dewey would use a 20-8 run to close out the win and send Jay home for the season. The Lady Bulldoggers now will play in Checotah at 1 pm on Friday afternoon.

On the guys side, not as dramatic but it was a back-and-forth game that Dewey was able to hold on to win, 49-43. For the guys, it was tied at the half 24-24 after Jay knocked down a buzzer beater three at the end of the first half.

Zaiden Masters and Karson Johnson led the pack as they scored 17-points apiece to help lead Dewey past the Bulldogs. Johnson knocked down four three-pointers in the game, including this huge fourth quarter one to extend the lead for Dewey.

The guys would hold on for the six-point win as they advance to another regional elimination game as well. Dewey guys will also be in Checotah, and they will play directly after the girls game at 2:30 p.m.
