First Day of March Madness is Mad
Day one of the NCAA Tournament is in the books, and it was a good one. Major upsets throughout the early afternoon probably ruined a lot of people’s brackets.
The wildest game of the day was probably Furman beating Virginia. The 13-seeded Paladins move on after getting a steal and three-pointer with less than three-seconds remaining.
Here is how Furman’s radio call sounded on Thursday afternoon.
For the third year in a row a 15-seed has beaten a two, as Princeton shocked Arizona and knocked out the Wildcats, 59-55.
Unfortunately, Oral Roberts could not get one of those upsets, as the Golden Eagles second trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past three years ended in a blowout loss. Duke topped ORU 74-51. The game was never close.
ORU’s season came to an end at 30-5.
