Big sports day in Bartlesville, as the 65th Glen Winget Tournament kicks off on Thursday morning in downtown at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

If everything goes according to plan there will be five games at Rigdon Field over the course of the day, culminating with the Indians against Springfield Kickapoo at 8:00 Thursday evening.

The Indians enter at 14-10, looking for their first Winget title since 2018.

Two Indian veterans in Grant Clark and Kael Siemers will try to lead the way. Clark will get the ball in game one and has turned into the pseudo ace for the Tribe. Clark gets the start Thursday with a 2.50 ERA over a team-high 28 innings pitched.

Clark, a former Bruin, has been brilliant since the back half of the spring.

He talks about the summer on the mound so far.

This will be the third Winget for Siemers and the second for Clark. Bartlesville has done well in the tournament over the past several years, making the semis in three of the past four years.

Clark and Siemers both talk about playing in the historic tournament.

The day starts with Greenwood, Arkansas against Three Rivers at 11:00. Fort Smith, Arkansas takes on Elk City at 1:15. Mountain Home, Arkansas faces Springfield Hillcrest at 3:30. Southern Elevation faces Bryant, Arkansas at 5:45 then the Tribe against Springfield at 8:00.

We will have the Indians and Kickapoo with pregame at 7:45 on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. Video coverage on KWONTV.com.

If anything changes due to the weather, we will pass it along on our Facebook page.
