The Doenges Ford Indians improved to 6-1 on the season after going 2-0 on Saturday thanks to an offensive explosion in the final day of pool play of the Katzer Tournament. Game one would prove to be much more dramatic than game two as the Indians won in walk-off fashion in game one, 6-5.

Game two had little dramatics, as Doenges put up a three-spot in four consecutive innings to grab the 12-6 win.

For game one, the Indians staged a remarkable comeback in the first game of the night, erasing a 5-1 deficit to grab a 6-5 win. Former WCS Mustang Kael Siemers came up with the bases loaded and grabbed the huge RBI sacrifice fly to win the game.

Luke Fox got the win after pitching one inning in the seventh and giving up zero runs to hold the deficit to just one. Eric Olenberger, Jaxon Zaun, and Hunter Shea all grabbed two hits a-piece in game one.

Game two was much less dramatic as the Indians grabbed a 12-6 win over the Ft. Smith Sportsmen in just four innings. Nik Johnson got things started with a bases clearing two-run double to grab their first lead of the weekend.

Offensively, six different Indians grabbed a hit, led by Luke Fox who was the only Indian with two hits in game two. Three Indians also grabbed two-rbi’s apiece. On the mound, Trey Bennet got the win after going two innings with three strikeouts. Zane Stricklin came on in relief to pitch the final two innings and grabbed a strikeout of his own and only surrendered two hits.

Doenges will not take on familiar foe Three Rivers at 1:30 p.m. in the winners bracket. All Sunday games will be broadcasted on KWON and KWONTV.com
