Indians Grab Saturday Night Winget Win

The Doenges Ford Indians grab their first win of the Glen Winget Tournament with a 5-2 win over the Mountain Home Locker room Saturday night. The Indians threw Brendan Asher and got the best outing from any Bartlesville pitcher we’ve seen this summer.

Asher absolutely dominated the opposing batters, throwing a full game 11-strikeout gem. Asher topped out with his most pitches in this calendar year with 119 as well. To top it off, he also threw an immaculate inning when he struck out the side in the fourth.

Hitting wise, Bartlesville had five hits that all came from different batters in Luke Fox, Brendan Asher, Trey Bennett, Kael Siemers, and Jaxon Zaun. This lead-off  triple from Fox in the third would help get things started for the Tribe.

Bennett would be the only other Indian with an extra-base hit as he smashed an RBI-double in the fifth inning. Doenges now improves to 15-11-1 on the summer and 1-1-1 in the Glen Winget Tournament.

The Indians will miss out on the semifinal rounds on Sunday but will have their tournament capper at 11 a.m. in a rematch with Kickapoo, Arkansas. That game will be available on Sports Talk 99.1 FM KPGM and video coverage on KWONTV.com
