Ironmen Defeat Chelsea
The Nowata Ironmen came off a first round loss in the Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament on Monday by defeating the Chelsea Dragons on Friday night, 54-49.
It was a game that for the first three quarters, the Ironmen were content to run up and down the court. The Ironmen led by five at halftime and were in control for a majority of the game. They opted to slow things down offensively a little bit in the fourth quarter and leading by six with less than three minutes to go, this was a crucial bucket for Nowata.
Nowata went on to make the neccesary free throws down the stretch to get the five-point win.
The Ironmen will now play Field Kinley High School in the consolation championship game on Saturday afternoon. FKHS defeated Oklahoma Union by four in overtime.
