Nowata Gets to 2-1 with Big Win Over Hulbert

The Nowata Ironmen are officially 2-1 for the first time since 2015 after a nearly wire-to-wire lead on a 48-28 win over the Hulbert Riders. Ironmen opened the scoring early with a two-yard touchdown run from Tyler Flower with a failed two-point try to make it 6-0 before Hulbert fired back to make it 6-6 at the end of the first quarter.
Scoring opened up in the second quarter with the Ironmen scoring two touchdowns before the half, including this 32-yard dime from Trevor Emberson to Peyton Trotter to make it 20-13.
The third quarter had a little back in forth, but featured the Ironmen adding two more scores, both being on the ground. Trotter had an eight-yard scamper for a touchdown and Tyler Flower added his second of what would be a three-touchdown night for our Patriot Player of the game.
Flower would cap off the hat trick in the fourth quarter with a 25-yard score to put the nail in the coffin for the Ironmen to make it 40-20 in the final frame. Bear Savala would add to the scoreboard with his first touchdown of the year on a long 75-yard run after the catch to put the Ironmen up 48-20.
Nowata totaled five rushing touchdowns on the night to go with two passing touchdowns for Trevor Emberson.
Ironmen move to 2-1 for the first time since 2015 after the 20-point dub. Nowata heads home next Friday for the first time this season as they take on the Caney Valley Trojans for homecoming in a contest we will have for you on KRIG 104.9 and KRIGTV.com
