OKWU drops doubleheader at Sterling

Oklahoma Wesleyan University went on the road to Sterling KS, where they dropped a basketball doubleheader to Sterling College. 
 
In the women's game, OKWU raced off to a fast start, and ended up tied with Sterling 22-22 after one quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the Warriors adjusted defensively and went into halftime with with a 39--34 lead. 
 
Sterling continued to extend their lead and pulled away for the 84-61 win. OKWU was lead in scoring by Haley Meely with 22 points. The loss ended a two-game winning streak and 3-7 overall and 1-4 in KCAC play. 
 
On the men's side, it was a back and fourth battle but ultimately #16 OKWU fell just short 71-68 at Sterling College.  Temaje Izuagbe led OKWU with 13 points, with D.J Talton Jr. with 12. Sterling used nine made three pointers to give OKWU their first KCAC of the season. 
 
OKWU will get back at it on Wednesday as they travel to Southwestern College in Winfield KS. Coverage starts at 5 with the women's game and boys to follow on 99.1 KPGM.
