Oklahoma Wesleyan men's basketball fell in an entertaining ballgame in the finale of The Tulsa Challenge in Skiatook to Langston, 73-70.

The Eagles traied 4-0 early before opening up a 10-0 run to grab the lead. Tamaje Izuagbe scored OKWU's first seven points of the night, including this dunk to give the Eagles their first lead.

In a low-scoring first half, the Eagles led the Lions, 30-26.

Langston got hot in the second half, and took command of the ballgame very quickly. The Lions opened the second half on a 29-9 run and grew as large as a 16-point lead at one point in the final frame.

Oklahoma Wesleyan had to play catch-up in those moments of the second half, and they were able to complete the comeback and take the lead for a short time. This Ethan Williams three-pointer put the Eagles in front late in the game.

Langston took the lead back on a three-point play by Omar Henry their next time down the floor and hit enough free throws in the final moments to maintain the lead. Williams had a chance at the buzzer to send the game to overtime but missed the shot.

The loss drops OKWU to 1-1 overall on the young season. The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday night for Mid-America Nazarene University for their first true home game at the Mueller Sports Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Coverage can be heard on Sports Talk 99.1 FM - KPGM.
