Panthers Ground Game is Rolling

A 52-7 home win over Foyil has moved Barnsdall to 2-0 on the season as the Panthers prepare for a trip to Summit Christian this week. Coach Kylee Sweeney says it is the running game that continues to carry the load for Barnsdall, as Easton Malone had 143 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. He says the entire team has gotten in on the mix as well, though.

The Panthers continue to run a two quarterback system because of an off-season injury to starting quarterback Maverick Lanphear. Sweeney says Braden Byers and Lincoln Gott are both doing what they need to as the rest of the team continues to get healthy.

Sweeney says Summit Christian played the Panthers to a close game last year and even though they are a younger squad this year, it will be important that the Panthers come out and play from the opening whistle.

Kickoff at Summit Christian is scheduled for 7 p.m.
