Pawhuska Jr. High, JV Squad Has Successful Year

The season has already came to an end for the Pawhuska junior high football team. Heading into the year, it was Coach Matt Hennesy's belief that some of the better players were on the seventh grade team, but he was proud of how the older guys stepped up and showed leadership on the junior high team.

Hennesy has always had a rule that all freshmen and sophmores must play junior varsity football, even if they start on Friday nights. He said this is so that the likes of Jenson Snodgrass and Jimmie Wildcat can get added reps that they wouldn't normally get.

Hennesy added now that the JV season has ended, he has told that group they are all varsity players and they need to be ready for when their name could be called at any moment.

Pawhuska travels to Quapaw for a game this Friday. That is a game you can hear on 99.1 FM KPGM and streaming on KPGMTV.com. Pregame will begin at 6:30 p.m. And kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
