Venables Talks Recruiting Ahead of Opener

Oklahoma head football coach Brent Venables took the podium for OU’s first preseason press conference on Tuesday.

The Sooners are getting set for Arkansas State at 11:00 in a hot Saturday morning in Norman.

OU got great news over the weekend, as the Sooners picked up a top-10 recruit in the country, and the best kid in Oklahoma. David Stone, a five-star defensive lineman, picked OU over many others.

Venables says getting five stars is ideal, but he wants to build the Sooners program on valuing things outside of recruiting rankings. 

We will have Sooner football this fall on 100.1 – KYFM. A 9:00 pregame on Saturday morning in OU’s second season under Venables.
