WCS Football Looking for W No. 1

Wesleyan Christian School should have a good chance to bounce back and get its first win of the season on Friday night.

The Mustangs travel to Claremore Christian. WCS fell in its first game a week ago at home to Webber’s Falls, 56-27.

It was the first time in more than three years that Wesleyan Christian had to play without Tyrel Cloud at the quarterback spot. He injured his non-throwing hand in a preseason scrimmage.

After a poor showing in the first half, WCS played better in the final two quarters.

Head coach Curt Cloud says losing one important player on an eight-man team can have implications on the entire roster.

Kael Siemers, the Mustangs top wide receiver from the past couple years, came in to play under center.

Cloud talks about his first actual time at the quarterback spot.

Siemers would have two rushing touchdowns in the second half. WCS managed nearly 200 yards of offense in the second half after having about 50 in the first.

Friday’s opponent in Claremore Christian is a non-OSSAA school in football.
