WCS Lifting to Prep For 2024

Now let’s look to another football team with still high expectations this fall, Wesleyan Christian School.

Things are a lot different at WCS this season. The Mustangs will be breaking in a new head coach, a new set of players, a new district, and a new classification.

Wesleyan Christian will be in Class B-II, and they will break it in with a new set of starters, as the Mustangs lose five senior starters who bult the program into one of the state’s best eight-man teams east of I-35 the past three years.

First year head coach Blaine Landers talks about the past month of the offseason for WCS.

Landers says the weight room has been a focal point for the team since he joined the program a couple of years ago.

The day-to-day activities do not change a lot during the summer months, Landers says that the offseason work can sometimes be a slog.

WCS will open its season at home against Yale on Friday, Aug. 30. A lot more on area high school football planned for the next week.
